Football Tournament U12 Zon Garas, Ranau

Hello and Good Day...

Recently I had accompanied my fellow colleague Teacher for a Football Tournament held at SK Pinawantai Ranau and I want to share my experience  with you all guys out there. My colleague, Mr Affenday Lasiman hold a "B Licence for AFC" and qualified for the title "Coach" was the person in charge for giving training to our SK Naradan U12 Footbal Team. I was the second man, which give support in term of advice, work-out for "Goal Keeper", Strength and physiotherapy. We came with a big hope... to win the title. In 2016, we were the Runner-Up for the so-call tournament when SK Timbua beat us 3-1. Mr Affenday which I used to call him "Bro" have trained the team for at least 6 month starting from last year. I have joined him in the training session once in a while and played with the team and I confident that we can beat SK Timbua. Looking at the individual agility, fitness, and strength , compared with last year performances this year was better!!!. Although we have a " Key Player" last year, this year we also have a key player " Arson Maidin" the "Non-stop Talking Bird" which I call him at the Class and field was a promising win to our SK Naradan Team.

It was cloudy in the morning and the road was slippy, we managed to arrive safely at SK Pinawantai, Ranau before 8 0'clock a.m. The team prepared and Coach Bro and I waited for the Tournament Schedule. SK Naradan Team was in Group B, together with SK Tibabar and SK Tarawas. The first game was with SK Naradan Vs SK Tarawas which we win 2-0. 2nd game with SK Tibabar which our team lost 0-2. It was huge blow to our team.... what happen???? I have heard that the SK Tibabar team done the selection two days earlier before the game.. No traning!!! Are our team "underestimate" them? well I think so... the pupils are to much confident to beat SK Tibabar so they make a lot of mistake. The mistake give the chance for SK Tibabar to score and beat us. What to do? the game is still on and the team must keep on playing. Looking at the Coach Bro.. with a calm attitude, he just say "keep calm we still have a big chance after this".

Our Semi-final game was with SK Timbua. We lost the game to "0-2". The tournament stop for a break. The last game was SK Togop which we win 3-0 and easily beaten them!!!. This result bring us the title "Third Place". Although our team were in the third place, four pupils were selected to represent Zon Garas for District U12 Footbal Tournament will be held at Ranau Sport Complex in April 2017.

A Reflection about the tournament:

1. There was no qualified referee.
2. Our team was not 100% fit for the game
3. Lack of intensity from the player
4. The body size
5. Lack of Motivation

In our personal conversation with Coach Bro... the game, Probability of winning is 99% and luck 1%. Although we were expected to win the game but what you expect when you are expecting sometime come up with up sided result!!! But in term of all that, congratulation for the organizing school, the headmaster, the teachers, the players and all the support to make it a success tournament. Wait us for Next Year Zon Garas U12 Football Tournament!!!!!!!
