Show patriotism with the flag

The people have been urged to fly the Jalur Gemilang during this independence month to show their appreciation and love for the country.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said flying the national flag would not only show the people's appreciation for the harmony felt in the country, it also proves that the people are united.

This year's independence month, themed at "1Malaysia: Successful Transformation, Harmonious People", he said, is also relevant as it gives hope and means a lot to all Malaysians.

He stated that the harmony and unity enjoyed by the people now has to be continued and preserved, for the betterment of the people.

He said this while officiating at the state level independence month and Jalur Gemilang Flying campaign at the City Hall compound on Thursday.

Musa's speech was delivered by Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Yahya Hussin.

In this respect, Musa pointed out that the State Government would continue to focus on certain areas such as poverty eradication, rural facilities development, education, security and government services to it's clients.

These, he said, are some of the government's effort in ensuring that the Government Transformation Programme, Economic Transformation Programme as well as New Economic Model are carried out as planned.

Towards the end, he urged all parties, let it be from private or government sectors to support the campaign and to fly the National flag as a proof of their love and loyalty to the country.

Meanwhile, the event also saw performances such as choir, poem declamations, and the distribution of flags to motorists around Jalandhar Gaya.

Yahya also represented Musa in the flagging off of the Mount Kinabalu climb expedition group during the event.

Also present were representatives from the Navy, maritime, Police, local leaders such as Mayor, Datuk Abidin Madingkir, Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Yee Moh Chai, Local Government and Housing Minister, Datuk Hajiji Hj Noor, Moyog Assemblyman Daruk Donald Mojuntin among others.
