The Rotary Club of Likas Bay's Charity Golf Tournament

|

One of the active Charity Organization in Sabah and always conducting program for helping the society. Two years ago I have experiences in joining their program "Hala Tuju Selepas SPM" and appointed as one of the committee member. We were aiming to promote Education career at the Ranau District. The program was officiated by the District Officer of Ranau. The responses was really remarkable. Doing for public charity is one of my goals in life. I have joined their Education Program in Keningau and most of the rural part in Sabah. All the best for club and keep up the good work.    "Working for public bring more happiness than usual work" HG

The Rotary Club of Likas Bay's Charity Golf Tournament offering hole-in-one prizes worth over RM500,000 will be held on Oct 29 (Saturday) at the Sutera Harbour Marina Golf and Country Club.

They comprise a D'Vantage Apartment worth RM308,000 sponsored by Fine Landmark Sdn Bhd, a GWM Wingle 5 vehicle sponsored by Fook Loi Corporation (Sabah) Sdn Bhd worth RM60,000, a Proton Saga sponsored by Rintis Malay Motors Sdn Bhd worth RM43,000 and RM100,000 cash sponsored by QTC Energy Public Company Ltd Thailand.

Organising chairman Woo Soo Poo said members of the public are invited to participate in this tournament which is divided into three categories.

Category A is for golfers with handicap 12 and below, Category B for golfers with handicap between 13 and 18 and Category C for golfers with handicap between 19 and 24.

He said about 288 golfers are expected to participate in the one-day Annual Fund Raising Drive Tournament.

According to Woo, the funds raised would go towards the Club's community-based projects such as cleft lips and palate operation that was done at Siem Reap Hospital in Cambodia, jointly with our sister club, the Rotary Club of Lu Chou, Taiwan; gravity feed and sanitation project at Kg Timpangoh Laut, Penampang and also at Pangas Ulu, Keningau; and avoidable blindness outreach programme which was recently carried out in Pitas where more than 600 villagers were screened and treated, among others.

"All these projects will be implemented in the remote areas of Sabah that are in genuine need of assistance," said Woo, who is the club's Vice-President.
