A bit of late for renewing my driving licence cause me a lot of problem where I was nearly got a summons from JPJ luckily with my strong reason why I cannot renew it on time their accept it and I was free from being summons which I think it would cost me couple of hundreds ringgit. Huh.... Today I went to JPJ Ranau for renewing my Driving Licence which three days late from the actual date and I was shock when the officer told me, for current renewing Driving Licence it will follow your date of birth. For example if your birth date was on 8 Feb, you must at least renew it before 8 Feb or on the day of your date of birth. I renew for one year eight month and it cost me RM45.00. I'm glad that there was no fine charges for late renewing my driving licence. Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, said the initiative of the Road Transport Department (RTD) is aimed at reducing cases of the holder of a dormant and an appeal to renew the driving license expired more than three years. In addition, he said, the new method is an alternative to the warning notice system undertaken by the department concerned.
Implementation of the renewal of driving licenses by the co-CDL expiration date as the date of birth will involve agencies such as RTD, National Registration Department, Pos Malaysia and e-Services.
