A bit of late for renewing my driving licence cause me a lot of problem where I was nearly got a summons from JPJ luckily with my strong reason why I cannot renew it on time their accept it and I was free from being summons which I think it would cost me couple of hundreds ringgit. Huh.... Today I went to JPJ Ranau for renewing my Driving Licence which three days late from the actual date and I was shock when the officer told me, for current renewing Driving Licence it will follow your date of birth. For example if your birth date was on 8 Feb, you must at least renew it before 8 Feb or on the day of your date of birth. I renew for one year eight month and it cost me RM45.00. I'm glad that there was no fine charges for late renewing my driving licence.
The new policy was introduced by the JPJ on October 2011 and it was new info where less people know about it. The Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan or JPJ need to announce its' new policy to the public so that they became aware of it and ready for any obstacle regarding to this matter. The restraint of JPJ Ranau was very fast and quick and I settle my licence renewal less than 30 minutes and really thankful for the best management of JPJ Ranau. Well done JPJ Ranau.....

Article about the new policy of renewing Driving Licence
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, said the initiative of the Road Transport Department (RTD) is aimed at reducing cases of the holder of a dormant and an appeal to renew the driving license expired more than three years. In addition, he said, the new method is an alternative to the warning notice system undertaken by the department concerned.
Implementation of the renewal of driving licenses by the co-CDL expiration date as the date of birth will involve agencies such as RTD, National Registration Department, Pos Malaysia and e-Services.
For date of birth on February 29, valid driver's license expiration date proposed in the February 28 and the date of renewal on March 1. However, if the licensee does not want to use that date, they must renew his driving license for a period of four years based on the next leap year.
Line adjustment driver's license expiration date, the payment will be adjusted through two methods that the holder of a license renewal period between the expiry of the license until the date of birth between 12 to 18 months, including the extension period, the government will pay the license fee for the extended period.
For example, for the validity of existing licenses is February 20, 2011 to February 19, 2012 and date of birth of the licensee is October 10, 1980, only payment of RM30 imposed for the period February 20, 2012 to February 19, 2013. The remaining five-month extension of 20 days (less than six months) is free of charge, between February 20, 2013 to October 10, 2013.
Cho Ha said, the holder of a license renewal period between the expiry of the license until the date of birth between 19 and 24 months, including an extension, they have to pay for an extension of more than six months but less than 12 months.
