My Life My Story: The Pox

It was an upsetting week for me... I'm expecting to have a good traveling week but my children were infected by the so-called chickenpox disease. What can do... all my planning were postponed. First my wife was the one being infected by this disease than spread out to my children. My daughter was badly infected by this chickenpox. The disease can be divided into two types, one was called as chickenpox and the other one was called as the smallpox. My daughter was infected from this chickenpox form my wife after one week her recover from the disease. Luckily I was infected by this disease when I was still a baby and my body are immune to the disease. My son, was being infected too but luckily the quantity of the pox was less than my daughter and it took only three days for him to recover from it.

First, my wife used the Hospital medicine but my mother told me to use a herbal treatment. The herbal medision called by the Dusuns and the Kadazans as "Radap". A tree used as fences to prevent the buffalo from entering the planting field back in the olden days. The so-called Radap were really hard to find these day. Since I'm living in Ranau now, I cannot find it because I'm not familiar with this area. Luckily it was a school holiday and I got chance to go back home to Tamparuli. It took me three days to find this plant where the placed which I know it grow were already being develop and the big Radap tree were demolished. I went to my uncle house at Kionsom Lama and ask for the Radap but I 'm disappointed when the Radap tree was withered too. So I went to my cousin house at Kionsom Bawah near to Nohirot Telibong and for the sack of my tiring leg I finally found this plant. I took the bark of the plant and take several small trees branches for my future used and for breeding it.

It will took one week to recover from this disease. The herbal "Radap" was once used by my mother to treat me from this disease many years ago. First, you need to mix the bark of the plant with hot water. Wait for 10 minutes and drink it for at least 4 times a day. The effect will show that all the pox will be spring out from the human skin. Drinks it until all the pox appear from your body. The sign that all the pox already being spring out from your body was it will appear at your palm and sole. If you believe in Herbal medicine it is easy for adapting it. My wife also went to the hospital to get treatment and the doctor gave Calamine Creame to reduce the itchy pain.

Now my daughter is slowly recovering from the pox or in Malays Language "Cacar Air". There are other herbal medicine that can treat this disease such as the "Grass Roots" or in Malays Akar Lalang, Lime tree thorn and Kapok Tree thorn. Mixed it all together and drinks it. For better treatment go to the nearest hospital and get advise from experience person. I shared some picture for you all. Till then, we will meet again soon.
