My Life My Story: Register as a legal voter before May 2012.

Hello and Good Day for all Sabahan and Malaysian. We meet again and for today post I would like to amend about the next General Election in Malaysia. Malaysia General Election conducted every four year and this is our opportunity to select new government instead of maintaing the old ruler. For my opinion, let's us continue the current ruler but we need more power for Sabah because "we are powerless now". The main point was we want more " Decision Making Power " so that all the Sabahan can voice out what they want in Sabah. Actually I wanted to summoned all the Tamparulian whose age 21 years above to register as a legal voter and perhaps this young voter can change what is happening right now. I'm as a Tamparulian was really grateful for the development in this district but I'm a little bit pity for other places such as Kudat and Kota Marudu. Hopefully the voters there can choose what is good for their district not just a "Janji-janji Kosong" throw to them as the assembly pleasure. The are many places in Sabah which need more attention and development. The rural area in Sabah need better roads, bridge and especially communication in-term of telephone connection. Last but not least, for all Tamparulian, Tuaran and Kiulu who have not register yet, please do so before end of May 2012 for the eligibility for voting in the next General Election. All the best and may peace be with you all. HG 2012.

THE EC Chairman urged Malaysians in Sabah who have reached the voting age of 21 to register to make them eligible to vote in the coming election. He said that out of 1.19 million people in the state who are aged 21 and above, there are still 312,070 who have not registered as electors. "I am advising them to register quickly; there is still time because the electoral roll will only be gazetted in May," he said.

Abdul Aziz also announced that vote-counting process would only begin at 4pm for the polling centres which closed early. "In the previous election, the ballot papers were counted as early as noon at several centers including in the Kinabatangan and Pensiangan parliamentary constituencies in Sabah," he said. The latest move was important, he said, to prevent the possibility of a result leak, and certain people using the information to launch a psychological war. "This is a new challenge for the EC in the era of the social media and speedy communication such as Facebook, Twitter and short message system," he said.

When asked whether the EC is proposing to ban the use of mobile telephones at vote-counting centres, Abdul Aziz said at the moment the commission has not made any decision to enforce such regulation.
