A journey from Kota Kinabalu will take about 45 minutes by land transport, bringing you the fascinating view of the "Tamparuli Hanging Bridge" and Home Stay House near the river bank at Tamparuli Town. Best recommend lodging for visiting and staying at Tamparuli is Tang Dynasty Motel Tuaran located 5km from Tamparuli. Tang Dynasty Hotel is located at the road side to Tuaran and Kota Belud highway. While visiting Tamparuli you can go for hiking at "Bukit Perahu" and Para-gliding Extreme Sport (Need to book first) from that hill. Plenty of restaurant to be choosed and highly recommended is " Restaurant Mui Hong" which located beside Bank Simpanan Nasional Tamparuli (BSN).

The best day recommended for visiting Tamparuli is on Wednesday morning. The Tamparuli Tamu is on that day starting from 6 O'clock in the morning to 3 O'clock in the afternoon. You can buy souvenir during the Tamu day with reasonable price. If you like to buy more souvenir you can visit the "Souvenir Shop" located behind Pasar Besar Tamparuli. There are a lot homemade product by the local here such as Sompoton,  Gong, Kulingtangan, Sword, Sumpit, Traditional Cloths and many more. Tamparuli is a town sister to Tuaran and Kiulu Town.

Tomorrow I'm going to Pejabat Daerah Kecil Tamparuli, a building located about 1km on the east of Tamparuli city or town for some business matter. I haven't had any encounter or meeting with the Pegawai Daerah Kecil Tamparuli Sabah so far but if I'm lucky tomorrow, may be that would be my chance to see him in his beautiful district office of Tamparuli Sabah.

I will try to take this opportunity to visit Tamu Tamparuli and the famous Jambatan Tamparuli Sabah. Hopefully, there is something interesting in Tamparuli city or town. I heard there are many interesting items being sold in Tamu Tamparuli of which yet to be discovered.

There is KLMU Sabah roadshow in Tamparuli district office tomorrow, and, I will take this opportunity to visit the the KLMU kolej roadshow as well. KLMU kolej in Sabah are opening a new student registration counter tomorrow in Pejabat Daerah Kecil Tamparuli.

Tamparuli city or town is also well-known for it popular white water rafting, an extreme sport activity run by the local. I will get more information about White Water Rafting in Tamparuli Sabah particularly in Kiulu White Water Rafting sport.

It good to live in a town like Tamparuli, where you can see the lovely people, Tamu Tamparuli and especially our "Hanging bridge" or the local call it " Jambatan Gantung Tamparuli". If you talk about "Jambatan Gantung" many people in Sabah will point it to Tamparuli where there is a song title as "Jambatan Tamparuli" dedicate to "Jambatan Gantung Tamparuli". Do not forget to take a picture for your collection at Tamparuli Hanging Bridge if you visit Tamparuli soon.

Sabah is rich with special kind of thing, one of it is the hanging bridge. If you travel around Sabah, you can see a lot of this hanging bridge in every major city and especially in rural area. Some part in Sabah such as Lahad Datu, Semporna, Kunak and Tawau is the major town in Sabah that you cannot find this "Hanging Bridge" expect at Sepilok Park. If you compare Sabah with Peninsular of Malaysia there is no such thing as hanging bridge and if the Malay travel in Sabah they are really fascinated with this bridge.

Many district in Sabah such as Keningau, Tambunan, Tuaran, Nabawan and many more have at least four to five of this hanging bridge. I think the biggest one is in Tenom where it can fit for one Produa Kancil. The hanging bridge of Tamparuli is not the first one being built but for the past 20 years I more than 5 already being built. The original is already long gone, either the engineer make wrongful decision for building it on the inconsistence foundation or the river water is too strong for the hanging bridge leg concrete. If you compare with British and our engineer, they are far more better than us. The old suspension bridge is built by the British and still stand until today and I learn from that we need a strong foundation to built the bridge. Same goes with the hanging bridge we must find a better foundation to build it. Thankful to the authority that made this bridge whereby we can enjoy nice scenery from the hanging bridge. Tamparuli makes the news for all the wrong reasons

Near the library in the town of Tamparuli is a small recreational area, some call it a park. It used to be just an open ground until it was developed a few years ago, and looks good at first glance. Done with good intentions indeed, however, it was reported by Johary Indan in Berita Harian, a national daily a few days ago that in the past year, this area had become popular places for wayward youngsters, boys and girls alike, to get high on glue, get drunk on alcohol, litter and indulge in public displays of affection, something not acceptable in local culture. Even worse, they apparently did all these openly without seemingly any care for the world.

And perhaps worst of all, some of them allegedly robbed anybody who walked by that area, as well as harrassing passers-by with obscenities.The reporting journalist wrote that he saw many empty bottles of liquor and broken glass scattered about.As a result, it had become a no-go area for many people, with some suggesting that the place be closed.

His report has created some controversy, not least because if what he reported really are happening on a regular basis, the local police station is just across the road, perhaps even with an unobstructed line of sight, hence it should be no problems for them to monitor on act where necessary.

Whatever it is, I call upon all Tamparulians to keep up the good name of our little town. Let it be famous for the bridge, the tamu, Wun Chiap, the hill; heck, even perhaps the world sales headquarters for Epson tm-t88iv thermal printers, but not these kind of news.
